Welcome

At Engadine Uniting we believe all people are created lovingly and wonderfully in the image of God, and we welcome everyone regardless of race, age, ability,  sexuality and gender.

As a Christian Community we believe that God reaches out to us in love and acceptance and that our relationships with each other should express love and respect.

Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, wherever you’ve come from, wherever you’re going, whatever is in your heart – you are very welcome here.

CALL TO WORSHIP

God calls us to worship.

God calls us to our best life.

God invites us to sing.

God calls us to open our hearts to joy

God invites us to pray.

God calls us into many life conversations

God invites us to think and talk together.

God calls us to listen wholly to each other and be strong and kind

God calls us to life.

God calls us to life today.

PRAYER OF INVOCATION

God of all truth and wisdom,

you invite us to remember that we are always in your presence,

that you are always present with us,

that you are with us and in and through every moment of our lives

now and always.

Hold us in your presence that calls us to life.

Amen.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

God of memory and longing,

you know the deep recesses of our minds and hearts.

You know how we long for what is good and what is pure,

how much we desire to live with a confidence in our faith,.

So often these desires and longings fall way short

we are no where near fulfilling our intentions and well meaning efforts to live the life we hope for,

the life to which you call us.

Do not cease in calling us, God of great patience.

Forgive us and give us courage.

Forgive us and give us persistence.

Forgive us and give us grace

that we might, even in the smallest of ways,

and in the briefest of moments,

glimpse the life you long for us to live.

Amen.

WORDS OF ASSURANCE

Be assured all who hear these words.

Be assured you  are the beloved of God.

Be assured, that you are children of God.

You are forgiven

You are loved

You are a precious human

Once again You are forgiven.

Thanks be to God!

SHARE THE PSALM READING WITH CONGREGATION:

1   Praise awaits you, our God, in Zion;
to you our vows will be fulfilled.

2 You who answer prayer,
to you all people will come.

3 When we were overwhelmed by sins,
    you forgave[c] our transgressions.

4 Blessed are those you choose
and bring near to live in your courts!
We are filled with the good things of your house,
    of your holy temple.

5   You answer us with awesome and righteous deeds,
    God our Savior,
the hope of all the ends of the earth
    and of the farthest seas,

6 who formed the mountains by your power,
    having armed yourself with strength,

7   who stilled the roaring of the seas,
    the roaring of their waves,
and the turmoil of the nations.

8    The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders;
where morning dawns, where evening fades,
you call forth songs of joy.

First Song: Let There be Peace on Earth

PRAYER OF ADORATION AND THANKSGIVING

A psalmist says: ‘God who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.’

And we say,

God is Good.

A psalmist says, ‘God is your keeper; your shade at your right hand.’

And we say,

how wonderful are your promises.

A psalmist says, ‘The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.’

And we say, what blessings are at your hand.

A psalmist says, ‘God will keep you from all evil; and will keep your life.’

And we say,

thank you, thank you, thank you.

Amen.
