Friends, we are all welcome in this place. Our time together, is God’s gift to each of us. We come with what we know of and have experienced in life, we come seeking to discover what we don’t yet know about our God and God’s hopes and dreams for our lives. We declare in Jesus’ name that this is a safe physical, emotional and spiritual environment for all who search for meaning and purpose in life.

We live on a land which was never ceded and is still without Treaty between the Dharawal original inhabitants and what are still therefore its European invaders. We acknowledge the need for a treaty and for truth telling. We acknowledge and honour the Dharawal elders past and present and join with them in seeking justice and reconciliation.

We light this candle because it brings light to this place. We light this candle because it reminds us of Christ Jesus whom we proclaim is the Light of the world and we want His light to be part of our lives.

Let all creation dance

In energies sublime
As order turns with chance

Unfolding space and time.
For nature’s art

in glory grows
And newly shows

God’s mind and heart.

God’s breath each force unfurls
Igniting from a spark
Expanding starry swirls
With whirlpools dense and dark.
Though moon and sun

seem mindless things
Each orbit sings:

‘Your will be done’.

Our own amazing earth
With sunlight cloud and storms
And life’s abundant growth
In lovely shapes and forms.
Is made for praise

a fragile whole
And from its soul

heaven’s music plays.

Lift heart and soul and voice:
In Christ all praises meet
And nature shall rejoice
As all is made complete.
In hope be strong

all life befriend
And kindly tend

creation’s song.

CALL TO WORSHIP Let us pray…

God, who has made our world with its beauty and wonder, full of delights for us to explore.

Grant us wisdom to live gently on the earth, holding sacred the air and water, soil and sun.

God, who has called human beings your children, made to share in the work of creation.

Grant us wisdom to live in harmony with one another, holding sacred your image in everyone.

God, whose Spirit dwells within us, giving us power to live in your name.

Grant us wisdom to discern your presence, holding sacred the glory of love in the everyday. Amen

ROMANS 5: 1 – 5 (NRSV) Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand, and we boast in our hope of sharing the glory of God. And not only that, but we also boast in our afflictions, knowing that affliction produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.

Comforting Friend, please hear our prayers. Our days are filled with decisions and thoughts, that draw our focus away from being your people. We struggle with impatience and do not listen to your voice,  as we clamor to be many things in all we think and say and do.

Spirit of Wisdom, settle into our minds and calm our thinking.

Frustration draws our focus away from tolerance, and irritated reactions replace careful responses.

Spirit of Wisdom, settle into our minds and calm our weary minds.

Anger overcomes kindness and gentleness when our emotions are stretched and raw.

Spirit of Wisdom, settle into our minds and calm our anxious thoughts.

We seek to be your people of loving care and are sorry when we are distracted from your way.

Let your warming love flow through us and reveal to us when we are hurtful and unkind,

when we are impatient and rude, when we are unjust in our anger. In your Mercy hear our prayers.

PROVERBS 8: 1- 4, 22 – 31 (NRSV) Does not wisdom call and understanding raise her voice? On the heights, beside the way, at the crossroads she takes her stand; beside the gates in front of the town, at the entrance of the portals she cries out: “To you, O people, I call, & my cry is to all who live.

The Lord created me at the beginning of his work, the first of his acts of long ago. Ages ago I was set up, at the first, before the beginning of the earth. When there were no depths I was brought forth, when there were no springs abounding with water. Before the mountains had been shaped, before the hills, I was brought forth, when he had not yet made earth and fields or the world’s first bits of soil. When he established the heavens, I was there; when he drew a circle on the face of the deep, when he made firm the skies above, when he established the fountains of the deep, when he assigned to the sea its limit, so that the waters might not transgress his command, when he marked out the foundations of the earth, then I was beside him, like a master worker, and I was daily his delight, playing before him always, playing in his inhabited world & delighting in the human race.

In this we hear of God’s creative engagement and purpose with all of creation. Thanks be to God.

Hymn:  Bring Many Names https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aj7Ms2Z35Tc

Bring many names, beautiful and good
Celebrate in parable and story,

Holiness in glory
Living, loving God.

Hail and Hosanna! Bring many names!

Strong mother God, working night and day
Planning all the wonders of creation
Setting each equation,

Genius at play
Hail and Hosanna, strong mother God!

Warm father God, hugging every child
Feeling all the strains of human living
Caring and forgiving

Till we’re reconciled:
Hail and Hosanna, warm father God!

Old, aching God, Grey with endless care
Calmly piercing evil’s new disguises
Glad of good surprises

Wiser than despair:
Hail and Hosanna, old aching God!

Young, growing God, eager, on the move
Saying no to falsehood and unkindness
Crying out for justice

Giving all you have:
Hail and Hosanna, young growing God!

Great, living God, Never fully known
Joyful darkness far beyond our seeing
Closer yet than breathing

Everlasting home:
Hail and Hosanna, great, living God!

MESSAGE ‘It’s all for one and one for all’

HYMN https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XpIE51TIaMI

How wonderful the Three-in-One, whose energies of dancing light

are undivided, pure and good, communing love in shared delight.

Before the flow of dawn and dark, Creation’s Lover dreamed of earth,

and with a caring deep and wise, all things conceived and brought to birth.

The Lover’s own Beloved, in time, between a cradle and a cross,

at home in flesh, gave love and life to heal our brokenness and loss.

Their Equal Friend all life sustains with greening power and loving care,

and calls us, born again by grace, in Love’s communing life to share.

How wonderful the Living God: Divine Beloved, Empowering Friend,

Eternal Lover, Three-in-One, our hope’s beginning, way and end.

Praise with joy the world’s Creator
God of justice, love and peace
Source and end of human knowledge
Force of greatness without cease.
Celebrate the Maker’s glory
Power to rescue and release.

Praise the Son who feeds the hungry
Frees the captive finds the lost
Heals the sick, upsets religion
Fearless of both fate and cost.
Celebrate Christ’s constant presence –
Friend and Stranger, Guest and Host.

Praise the Spirit sent among us
Liberating truth from pride
Forging bonds where race or gender
Age or nation dare divide.
Celebrate the Spirit’s treasure –
Foolishness none dare deride.

Praise the Maker, Son and Spirit
One God in community
Calling Christians to embody
Oneness and diversity.
Thus the world shall yet believe
When shown Christ’s vibrant unity.
