What a celebration of this annual joint event between the Sutherland Shire Amnesty branch and the congregation of Engadine Uniting – much delayed over 2020 and 2021 due to Covid! Instead of our traditional winter soup-and-rolls huddling over the heaters after the letters are done, you are invited to graze on a yummy morning tea while writing one or more letters. We provide the home-baked goodies!

This year, we provided extra help for letter-writers whether they were doing it for the first time or have been along before. Easier notes, handy hints and shorter stories were supplied to help participants write letters that express our support for people who are prisoners of conscience across the world.
There was an introduction by Amnesty members who explained why letter writing works, and which people were the focus of this particular event. Tables and chairs were spread out so everyone could stay 1.5m distanced, and there were hot and cold drinks and yummies (including gluten free) available for the whole time so participants could sip and scribe.

Use the link provided after registration to tune in on or after 10.30 on Sunday 12th, and you’ll be able to see and hear the short presentations then settle down to write as many letters as you choose.
