11am to 1pm on Sunday 14 April 2024

Come and join us in friendship and fun to sew aprons with a protect Mother Earth theme, using recycled and scrap fabrics.

Inspired by the concept of Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle and the circular economy, this event is designed to save surplus materials from landfill by creating something practical: aprons.

There will be plain white aprons provided to start you on your Mother Earth creation. Prepared apron pocket kits, which contain strips of coloured fabrics to be assembled into a global temperature gauge (from data collected over the past 100 years), will be available at a small cost ($5), for those whose creative muse has deserted them!

This event is for sewers of all skill levels. If you’ve never done anything more complicated than sewing on a button before, don’t worry. There will be experienced sewers there to help you every step of the way. This will be a safe environment to learn and be as creative as you wish to be. You may relax and let your imagination run, feeling free to explore your creativity while learning in a supportive space.

Everyone is welcome to join us.
