11am to 1pm on Sunday 17 March 2024

Inspired by the concept of Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle and the circular economy, this event was designed to repurpose the abundance of tea towels folks have in their kitchen drawer into something more practical and usable.

Folks came togther in friendship and fun as they recreated tea towels and crafted them into bags.

Experienced sewers helped new sewers prepare the tea towels and learn how to use the sewing machines available. There was ribbon, lace, buttons and other bibs and bobs to bling up the bags.

Some folks who couldn’t make the event donated tea towels, one of the children took learning new skills to a whole new level by finishing two bags while others took their half -created masterpieces home to finish off.

Everyone left feeling accomplished, good from the sense of community and friendship experienced and that they had saved items from going into landfill.
