LIGHTING THE CHRIST CANDLE
When it is dark, we cannot see each other’s faces and life can become self-centered and alone.
When we light a candle in the Name of Christ Jesus, the Light of the World, we see each other’s faces and the centre of our being moves outward to include them, our Lord & all of God’s Creation.
ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF COUNTRY
Friends, we gather on Dharawal land gifted by the Creator and good stewards and caretakers of this land since time immemorial. We give thanks to God for them and we honour their elders past and present and commit ourselves to this shared journey of reconciliation and justice making.
PRAYER OF ADORATION
Ever-present God, thank you that you do not limit your Spirit to a select few. The scriptures open to us your understanding of life; we do not need great knowledge to appreciate the wonders of your creation; we do not need to be clever to experience the grace that you extend to us. During these weeks following Pentecost, we look to the life of Jesus the Christ to show us the way and bring us the wisdom we need. We open our hearts and minds in gratitude for the fullness of life you offer us.
Let us worship God. Amen.

GREAT PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING
The Lord be with you
And also with you.
Lift up your hearts.
We lift them to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give our thanks and praise.
With all we are, we give you glory; Trinity of love, the one and Holy God, Creator of all time and space. We bless you for this wide, red land For its rugged beauty, its changing seasons, for its diverse peoples And for all that lives upon this fragile earth.
You have called us to be the Church in this place, to give voice to every creature under heaven.
We rejoice with all that you have made, as we join the company of heaven in their song:
Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might
Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is the One who comes in the name of the Lord.

To Adam and Eve, children of dust, you gave the world and its wonders, but we misused your gift of freedom: We reached out rebel hands to be like you. We bless you for your mercy, for you never cease to call our restless hearts, until they find their rest in you.
Again and again, you raised up men and women to speak your word, to guide, to challenge and convert. At the last, our Creator, you sent Jesus Christ, child of your love, God with us.
Born as one of us, he lived our life and died our death offering us, both now and forever, eternal life with you. Through him, in him and because of him, we affirm the Church’s faith:
