Energised by the wonderful experience of joining with choirs across the nation to sing for Reconciliation Week, the choir has re-formed and expanded! We have again joined with other choirs but this time in person, to perform and record the wonderful song “Voice!” Here are some photos from Sunday morning’s excursion on and around Sydney Harbour; more stories and photos to come. (Scroll down to hear the song)

Back home in the Shire, choir members reassembled twice over the following week to record our own audio of the song. From Gymea Community Choir, Bosco Social Justice Group, and our own congregation, here’s the video of the people who were able to come along on Wednesday night to record “Voice!” in the church hall:

Lyrics:

You made a Statement from the Heart,
You made it loud you made it clear.
You made a Statement from the Heart,
Now it’s up to me to hear.

Verse 2
So many Nations came together,
So many people found one voice,
It wasn’t easy but you did it,
Now we need to make the choice.
CHORUS
It’s a choice for
Voice, Voice Treaty Truth x3
Voice Treaty Truth x2
Verse 3
It’s way past time for recognition
This Voice to parliament enshrined
Our nation needs that Truth be told (let truth be told)
And there’s Treaties to be signed.
CHORUS
It’s a choice for
Voice, Voice Treaty Truth x3
Voice Treaty Truth x3
