Engadine Uniting Church’s Eco Stitch’n’Sew Hub (formerly known as “Clothing the Loop”) was proud to host the “Faces and Flora” exhibition featuring 27 textile artworks from artists around Australia showcasing inspired and diverse sewing techniques.
This touring gallery project was on loan from the Australia Textile Arts and Surface Design Association for one week only, and many people came along to see the fine work.
The members of the Eco Stitch’n’Sew Hub welcomed everyone to their new dedicated creative space where fabric waste gets a second life, and visitors had a chance to take a look at the project to transform unwanted emergency services uniforms into children’s clothing and accessories for families in need following disasters. (Volunteers are welcome, and you don’t need sewing skills!)
Visitors enjoyed the gallery over coffee and donuts on the opening morning, through more morning and afternoon sessions and into Friday evening for a twilight viewing with drinks and cheese.

The Eco Stitch’n’Sew Hub’s spacious new location is in the basement of the Engadine Uniting Church on the corner of Chipilly Ave and Cambrai Ave, Engadine.
(Entrance is the door from the street, to the left of the main stairs)

Who we are:
The Eco Stitch’n’Sew Hub is run by members of Engadine Uniting Church who find joy in sewing and are concerned about the amount of fabric waste. They wish to share their knowledge of sewing with others, to enable fabrics to be reused, repurposed and recycled.
