Acknowledgement of country
In the spirit of reconciliation Engadine Uniting Church acknowledges the Dharawal people, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we gather, and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
Welcome
At Engadine Uniting we believe all people are created lovingly and wonderfully in the image of God, and we welcome everyone regardless of race, age, ability, sexuality and gender.
As a Christian Community we believe that God reaches out to us in love and acceptance and that our relationships with each other should express love and respect.
Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, wherever you’ve come from, wherever you’re going, whatever is in your heart – you are welcome here.
Lighting the candle
The Light of Christ: your presence is with us here and always. We are drawn towards Christ’s Light. May that light illumine our path, scatter the shadows of doubt and brighten our daily comings and goings.

Call to Worship
Most wonderful God,
it is you who inspires every noble thought
and every loving deed.
When we draw near to you in worship,
save us from wanderings of mind and coldness of heart,
that with a deep longing for more truth
and a warm desire for more love,
we may know you, embrace you, and worship you
in the incarnate life of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Confession
If we say we have no sin,
we deceive ourselves,
and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins,
God is faithful and just,
and will forgive our sins
and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
O God,
we confess the blindness that is not even aware of sinning;
the pride that dares not admit that it is wrong;
the selfishness that can see nothing but its own will;
the righteousness that knows no fault;
the callousness that has ceased to care;
the defiance that does not regret its own sins;
the evasion that always tries to make excuses;
the coldness of heart that is too hardened to repent.
God, we are sinners; be merciful to us.
Amen.
This is the best of all:
when we are empty, God fills us;
when we are disheartened, God is compassionate;
when we are wounded, God brings healing;
when we are confess our sin, God forgives.
In Christ, through Christ and because of Christ,
our sins are forgiven.
Thanks be to God.

We are a Pilgrim People
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
We proclaim Jesus Christ, the crucified and risen One,
confessing him as Lord
to the glory of God the Father.
In the fellowship of the Holy Spirit,
we acclaim Jesus as the Lord of the Church,
the Head over all things,
the beginning of a new creation.
We acknowledge that we live and work
between the time of Christ’s death and resurrection
and the final consummation of all things
which he will bring.
We are a pilgrim people,
always on the way towards a promised goal;
on the way Christ feeds us with word and sacraments,
and we have the gift of the Spirit
in order that we may not lose the way.
We will live and work within the faith and unity
of the one holy catholic and apostolic Church,

As children of God, sometimes struggling to discover what new life in the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ means, we humbly offer our gifts, our time, our lives, our service.
In offering them to you,- acknowledging that it is by your goodness we have them to share, we dedicate ourselves again to be your people in the world, in the strength and power of Jesus Christ our resurrected Lord.
